Zeus, the ruler of the Greek pantheon, is said to have given the comforting violets to Io (eye-oh), whom he had to transform into a heifer in order to save from Hera’s anger.

Sweet violets smell strongly and have a very distinct sweet, pastel-like flavour. It can be used in drinks exactly like Crème de violette, but because our gin has been refined with wild juniper and a special blend of botanicals, it also tastes great on its own, in lemonade, when combined with ice cream, and in baking.
